MINISTRIES
Building strong connections within our congregation and encouraging fellowship with others is important to us. We organize regular fellowship events, small group meetings, hymn sings, and youth events that provide opportunities to forge lasting friendships and create a sense of belonging within our church family.
Here are a few examples of what is important to us.
Sunday School
Deepening our understanding of God's Word; every Sunday morning at 9:30am. There's a class for everyone.
Prayer Meeting
Weekly coming together to study God's Word and worship through prayer; lifting up local and global needs; each and every Wednesday throughout the year at 7:00pm.
Youth Ministries
We have a variety of age specific groups that meet weekly, bi-weekly, or monthly. Ages 5 and up!
Soup & Spot
The last Wednesday of the month (except June/July) we get together to have supper (usually soup) followed by two "Spots" or Bible Studies.
Small Groups
Interaction with a variety of other believers that usually meet once or twice a month in homes.
Greenwood Mennonite School
Our church started a Christian Day School back in 1928 that we still own and operate today.
Community Sewing Circle
Once a month our fellowship hall is turned into a missional sewing factory! Projects have included making quilts for addiction programs, school sale, Mennonite Central Committee, and various community needs.
Vacation Bible School
Each Summer our church pulls together to host a VBS. This event is always a hit with the kids...and the adults seem to love it too!
Annual Church Retreat
Each Autumn, our church retreats to Denton Weslyan Campground in Denton, MD for a weekend of good food, gut laughs, and fun for all ages!
Picnics & Potlucks
Historically speaking, our church likes to eat! That can also be said of the early believer's church! We enjoy coming together around the table and eating together. We enjoy our potlucks and picnics.
Christmas Program
Each Christmas, our kids put on a Christmas program that centers around the advent and birth of our Savior.
Winter Bible School
During the dark days of Winter, our church family enjoys hosting speakers for a 3-4 day conference.
Mennonite Disaster Service
We are a church that wants to care for physical needs around us, which is why we partner with MDS to provide disaster relief throughout the US.
MULTIPLY Conference
Each summer our conference, Rosedale Network of Churches, hosts a larger conference gathering.
Chili Cook Off
Another highlight each year is when our church has it's annual Chili Cook Off Competition.
Operation Christmas Child Shoeboxes
We partner with Samaritan's Purse Ministries to deliver gift-filled shoeboxes to boys and girls around the world.
